TEXAS FAMILY LAW LITIGATION
Why is it important to have an experienced lawyer represent
you in your Denton County, Texas divorce or other Family
law case? For the same reason that you would want your
doctor to have experience performing the type of surgery he
or she is set to perform on you! Academic knowledge is
foundational to success, but it is experience which teaches
how to best utilize that knowledge!
For example: there are several ways to achieve your objectives in a
Texas divorce or family law case, ranging from initially uncontested
matters, to collaborative law, to to mediation, and to litigation. Mr.
Heiman has resolved numerous of these divorce and family law cases
using all of those dispute resolution techniques, since 1989. We will
help you select the best "tool' to get the job done effectively and
efficiently. After all, we know that you want solutions, not just
litigation!
Our goal is to help you resolve your situation in the most efficient AND effective manner, whether that be through the use of:
1) litigation; [at the attorney's hourly rate of $295 for work performed by attorney, but just $145 for work performed by the Legal Assistant];
2) Collaborative Law;
3) uncontested proceedings; [the attorney's fees for uncontested divorces start at $795; the court's filing fee is extra (it varies from county to county, but is approximately $230)];
or
4) negotiation
Sometimes we are asked whether it is important to have a local lawyer represent someone in a Texas Family Court.
Consider it this way: would you be more comfortable accepting a repair
estimate from someone whom you know, rather than from a total stranger?
Judges are people, too. They know on which lawyers they can rely to be
truthful and forth-coming. And, those judges are going to decide who wins or
loses on many, or perhaps all, issues in a Texas Family Law case.
Mr. Heiman has been a practicing lawyer in the Denton County, Texas Courts
since the 1989, and in the Collin County, Texas Family Courts since the early
1990's. Mr. Heiman's experience with these Texas Family Courts allows him to
remove some of the uncertainty from your case.
